With today’s new photo shared by the DOJ, we’re already hearing the MSM, and blue-check lefties screaming for the DOJ to indict Trump for obstruction.
Here’s why…
So it appears on May 11th, a subpoena was issued to Trump’s “custodian of records” for all documents in the custody of Trump “bearing classification MARKINGS”.
This means that ALL of the documents were under subpoena from a Grand Jury, regardless of whether or not they were declassified.
…Again, it doesn’t matter if Trump declassified them because they specified in the subpoena all documents “bearing classification MARKINGS”.
In response to the subpoena, Trump’s staff conducted their own search for any and all documents.
On June 3rd, Trump’s custodian of records certified that “a diligent search was conducted of the boxes that were moved from the White House to Florida in order to locate any and all documents related to the subpoena.” This was when the DOJ visited Mar A Lago. They observed where the documents were being stored, and instructed Trump to put an extra lock on the door. The DOJ (allegedly) was assured that all documents had been secured.
Then sometime between early June and early August, an FBI informant within Trump’s circle tipped the feds off that Trump was hiding more documents at Mar A Lago in unauthorized locations (According to The Daily Mail). Thus prompted the raid, which turned up more documents “bearing classified MARKINGS”.
Allegedly, documents were found in unauthorized locations, in spite of a sworn statement from Trump’s attorney indicating they had all been secured.
So what does this all mean? Accusations of obstruction, and willful retention are incoming.
Either:
1) The search wasnt done thoroughly by Trump’s custodian of records, and it was an honest mistake.
2) Trump’s custodian lied to the Grand Jury.
Either way, it appears Trump’s custodian certified that all of the documents were secure, and documents bearing classified markings were found outside of the secure location. This puts Trump in a position to be accused of obstruction. So was this negligence, or worse?
Now, let’s ALSO consider the fact that an FBI informant in Trump’s circle tipped off the feds. Which means there is a willful attempt to set up, ensnare, and entrap Trump for obstruction, not just by the DOJ, but by the people within Trump’s inner circle.
Will this result in an indictment of Trump? I doubt it…
Without a doubt, this WILL most definitely fuel the lefties chanting for the arrest of Donald Trump. It WILL fuel the MSM with more propaganda to paint him a criminal. And it WILL look pretty bad optically as we head into the midterms.
But legally, they don’t have a leg to stand on. Problem is, if you want to prosecute Trump for obstruction you have to prove intent. Meaning this was done WILLFULLY by Trump himself.
Good luck with that.
The warrant was over broad and discounts presidential privilege.
I doubt the folks in the FBI who did the raid were cleared for Special Access classification either. This is just a corrupt FBI/DOJ stealing discovery on their own criminal selves. HRT really? Who was being held hostage? The Secret Service? Clown show.
Guess they think Trump had illegally surveilled them, like they did him. Without knowing, if Trump surveilled them, he likely did it legally under a Special Access program... Oops.
